There have been two Heritage Action Zones in Hull. The Hull Whitefriargate High Street Heritage Action Zone will help to re-position Whitefriargate as a family-friendly destination through the development of new leisure activities, cafes and restaurants.
The first, now complete, focused on Hull’s historic quarter known as the Old Town. Since Hull’s stint as City of Culture in 2017, parts of this area such as the Fruit Market have been given a new lease of life. We have been building on this legacy to transform and find new uses for vacant or underused historic buildings.
